Scottsdale Revisited
Seeing as I've been a little dry on material as of late, I decided it was time for a little jaunt into Scottsdale. Surprisingly enough, it still ticks me off.
What evoked my ire specifically tonight was the cookie-cutter blondes. I've already belabored my hatred for Cadillac Escalades and Hummer H2s, so I think I'll go ahead and save that rant for a bit. Has anyone else ever noticed that they're all trying to look like the same person? I don't know who this person is. I do know that she's got dyed blonde hair, a disproportionate chest, too much makeup, uncomfortably tight jeans, a pink spaghetti-strapped shirt, some kind of shoes that would make motion impossible for anyone in his or her right mind, and some outlandish sunglasses -- you know, the kind that only Bono could pull off. There had to be someone that did this first. Sure, the attire depends soley on the current trends, but I think this started a while ago. You see, all the pop and reality tv idols today look the same. And since Britney and Christina sorta got popular at the same time, there had to be someone before them. Maybe one of the Spice Girls, but since they didn't write any of their own music, I'm inclined to believe they weren't the authors of their own style. Madonna? Courtney Love? Cyndey Lauper? Nah. I think they were all too adament about their against-the-grain images for everyone to buy into that. The person they are all imitating had to go with the current trends, not start them, or else they would all be trying to start new trends, as well. I think it's probably an evolution. Maybe they got the physical part from the person, and then they change their clothes with the times. Whoever this person is, I don't like her. Scottsdale ticks me off, and Scottsdale is them, and they are Scottsdale.
I've been working on this for too long. I've gotta get some sleep. We're getting out of here around 10:00am tomorrow, and some sleep will serve me well. If you want to leave a comment...hmm...I'd like to hear whether you think Wolverine or Spider-man would win if they got in a fight. And I already know they wouldn't. Stop skirting around the question and humor me.
